There is an increasing interest in organizing and participating in Home Party events by the DeafBlind community, with the aim of meeting each other and exchanging experiences. These events are also an opportunity to enlighten people and spread information about Video Communication with RTT, and about how Video Relay Service (VRS) combined with RTT can contribute to an improved everyday life for individuals that are DeafBlind.
Home Parties with different themes and target groups with the aim of enlightening and informing have long been common. Through “Party Events”, people can gather and create their own community where they exchange experiences and ideas.
The benefits are many, and the value of meeting other people who are in the same situation as yourself should not be underestimated. In this context, users, relatives, and trainers alike get the opportunity to share their experiences and tips that can facilitate day-to-day life.
At nWise, we’re given the opportunity to introduce myMMX db to new audiences, inform and tell people in a personal way how we can help DeafBlind people by simplifying and improving their lives. The participants also get the opportunity to test the apps and make phone calls on site, as well as gain experience in making phone calls via a Video Relay Service with the support of RTT.
After years of using other VRS ASL only providers, I turned to myMMX in December 2021. What a huge difference! As a DeafBlind user, my phone calls to healthcare providers are much more pleasant with the adjustable and contrasted text features. Not only that, but I also appreciate how the missed call messages are done in a full text format to return calls, with all the information including names and phone numbers, without the need to view ASL. Thank you, myMMX
